I came upon this interesting paper by Joseph Larmor (1857-1942) while browsing a volume of Nature for January-June, 1941, and in researching it found a wonderful set of links for 80 papers written by Larmor from 1881-1941 (from PhDTree)  http://phdtree.org/scholar/larmor-joseph/publication/   See the St. Andrews site for a good biography of Larmor, here
