Mouldy Elegance (1864)

I started to call this mini-post “Beautiful Mould” but thought better of it, since moulds can cut both ways (so to speak)–“elegant” is a good descriptor and fairly correct.  In any event this image is used for the article “Moulds” and it appeared in the journal Popular Science Review, and published in 1864. Just about everything about the illustration is lovely, including the design in the display of the six samples.
