Coolidge741William Coolidge (a long-lived inventor and EE man who ran the GE research lab) developed an improved x-ray tube that was like a Model T compared to existing Model A tubes.  In any event I just liked the design of this ad, which appeared in Nature in 1914–especially the rendering of the tube.
