Found Surreal–1868

JF Ptak Science Books   Quick Post

This interesting image came from a collection of Victorian photographs, all ca. 1868 (one in the group was dated so). This example stands apart for me as an example of the Found Surreal–it has a certain artistic planned emptiness if you look at it in a certain way. Of course the original intention here was for someone getting the 18×18″ sheet ready to accept four more photographs placed in the hand-drawn frames.
