1, Herman F. Karreman, research associate in Princeton's Economic Research Program, has been awarded the Lanchester Prize for his report on a study of operations research techniques. The prize, given by Johns Hopkins University, is presented annually to "the author or authors of the best paper on operations research or reporting on an operations research study."
Mr. Karreman's prize-winning article appeared in the September, 1960 issue of "Naval Research Logistics Quarterly." The research associate's article was entitled: "Programming the Supply of a Strategic Material." Accompanying the award was a cash prize of $1,000 from Johns Hopkins and an engraved bronze plaque in recognition of his work from the Operations Research Society of America.
